eNews for May 11 (click here to read more)

This weekend, we remember our mothers and those who have had a mothering influence in our lives.  How true is the quote from Proverbs:  “A man’s work is from sun to sun, but a mother’s work is never done.”  We offer special prayers this week in thanksgiving!

We are in the middle of the Church season of Easter, when we focus on the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, and its impact upon the early Christians as well as its impact upon us, modern day believers.   I came across the following list of 10 Ways to RE-Joice in the Resurrection.  It serves as a good reminder of some of the important things of our Christian faith…

 “10 Ways to RE-Joice in the RE-surrection”:

RE-Joice… He is Risen… Indeed!

RE-Fresh… your body by sound sleep and good eats!

RE-New… acquaintances and habits of health and hope!

RE-Deemed… Know that you are loved forever by the Lord!

RE-View… your past lumps and bumps… and know you’re forgiven!

RE-Late… Talk, and listen closely, to those around you!

RE-Store… “unto me a clean heart, O God.” (Psalm 51:10)

RE-Vive… your faith through the Word and Sacraments!

RE-Focus… on all the great gifts the Lord has given you!

RE-Member… those special people around you!

How many more can you add?

And a reminder of the wonderful choir concert which will be held here at St. David’s this coming Saturday, May 13.
