Plan Your Visit

  • What to Expect

If it’s been a long time, or if you have never been to church, or if you are new to the area and just want to check us out, you are welcome at St. David’s. We know there can be many questions or concerns when visiting a church for the first time. We encourage you to join us. We are an inclusive and affirming congregation so everyone is invited to be a part of our congregation.

  • What will the Services be Like?

You can expect a variety of musical styles, each designed specifically to provide an atmosphere of worship. The messages are based on the bible and are practical in order to help you discover your own spiritual path. The actual worship services vary, using imagery and other creative expressions to communicate the theme of the service. We do our best to make the Sunday morning St. David’s experience one that will recharge your faith and enable you to carry your spirituality into all areas of your life.

  • What should I Wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are glad that you are joining us and we want you to be focussed more on the spirituality of the worship experience than on what you are wearing. In the summertime, its not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts and a shirt. In the winter, many prefer to wear jeans. Others prefer to put on their “Sunday best” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.

  • Where should I Park?

St. David’s has a large parking lot with 115 spaces. Access is just off the west bound on ramp to the Upper Levels Highway. There is easy access back onto Taylor Way. There is also lots of parking in front of the church on Taylor Way. There is an entrance off Taylor way to prove easy access to those with physical challenges.

  • Where do my children go?

St. David’s is the perfect place for children. They are a part of what we do. When you arrive for worship, your children sit with you in the church. The first part of the service tends to have lots of movement, which children enjoy. About ten minutes after the start of the service, the children are invited to come to the front of the church, if they wish, and be a part of a story told by one of the worship leaders. After this, there are staff who take the children out to a special children’s programme. As a parent you are invited to join them and see what lesson and activity is taking place. Some children wish to remain in the church for the whole service and this is okay. From time to time we will have special “intergenerational” worship services on Sunday mornings and the entire service is geared to all age spectrums and children remain in the church for the service.

  • Am I expected to put money in the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let the offering plate pass you by. Should you wish a receipt for any offering, please use one of the envelopes in the pews, writing you name and address on the envelope in the spaces provided.

  • What happens after the service?

Following the service refreshments are served in the lounge. You are welcome to join us so that you can get to know us a little bit more in an informal way. The minister will be present at this time to personally answer any questions or address any concerns you might have.

  • We always welcome dialogue

We always welcome dialogue about your spiritual journey. Our minister encourages your questions. You can arrange to see him for private conversation by contacting the church office at admin@stdavidsunited.com
